N.E. MacDougald served a tour in Vietnam with the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion (MACV). He has been a technical rock climber and active shooter for forty years. He was the survival editor for Soldier of Fortune Magazine, and became the managing editor of SURVIVE Magazine in 1980.
