The title is spot on, perfectly chosen. Christian and Elizabeth thought they would be together forever. But after 4 years of blissful happiness things change when Elizabeth becomes pregnant and Christian gives her an ultimatum: it’s either him or the baby. She makes the choice to keep the baby. After Christian cuts her from his life, Elizabeth spends the next five years struggling to provide for her daughter. Then, almost 6 years later, there is a chance meeting between Christian and this young child and he is drawn into the life that he turned his back on. He wants to take this responsibility, he wants to love them and redeem himself for his cruelty of years before, he’s never leaving them again. But can it ever be ok again? Elizabeth felt so hurt and betrayed at the moment she needed him most that she really doesn’t trust him now and thinks he will hurt them again, he will walk away again and then not only she herself but his child too will suffer. Oh the drama, the sadness, the struggle of emotions ! I enjoyed how the author wrote in alternating points of view so that I had a better understanding of Christian. I could really look into his head and feel all the love for Elisabeth and his child, his regret and guilt for what he did. Only she doesn’t want to believe him. Given that I could really feel Christian and knew his true intentions, it felt, a bit frustratingly, like going around in circles.. she pushes him away over and over again.. So where in the beginning I felt nothing than sympathy for Elisabeth and thought he was nothing but a bastard, by the end of the book I felt kind of sorry for him and it drove me a little crazy that she wouldn’t give him a break. In a way, I think it’s cool that an author can change the reader’s mind so much over some 100 pages but did she really have to be so frustrating ?! I would like to give it 3 ½ stars for the story and 4 for the writing.… (lisätietoja)

4,5 stars.

I really liked the story and the characters. Totally fell in love with Lizzie, because who in their right mind wouldn't? She was this adorable child that had this amazing heart and was a little angel. By the end, I cried with what happened and was a angry big time with the decisions Elizabeth made and was on Christian's side. I didn't fave it a full five star review because I thought the author rushed some things and took too much time in others that didn't need that much stalling.… (lisätietoja)

“Never would I take what I’d been given for granted. I’d never look at her through indifferent eyes, listen to her fears and worries with distant ears, or touch her with impassive hands. Elizabeth was a gift and Lizzie was my treasure. I would adore my family until the day I died.”

What an emotionally Beautiful story . the author did an amazing job writing this story .

There are some mistakes we make that we will regret for the rest of our lives. For Christian Davison, it was the day he betrayed Elizabeth Ayers. For five years, Christian has regretted the day he walked away from his family and will do anything to win them back. Can Elizabeth forgive someone who has committed the unforgiveable? Or are there some wounds that go so deep they can never heal?

I did not want to like Christian. What he did, was a horrible betrayal. It was cruel and selfish, and almost cost Elizabeth the life of their unborn child. Most people might say his actions are unforgiveable. But I was never angry at Christian. I never condoned or excused what he did, but I understood it was done in a most of selfish, childish anger, and I saw how much he regretted it. The instant the words left his mouth, he regretted it. Leaving Elizabeth and his child defines him as the worst sort of man, but he is someone else entirely. He lives with regret and guilt about what he did to them, a man tormented by the moment that he threw away the best gift of his life, the woman that he still loves, Elizabeth. The regret he has for what he has done has cost him many sleepless nights . When he finally see's his child for the first time , he vows to do all that he can to make up for all he did to her and her mother .

Elzabeth Went through so many struggles to raise the daughter that she had , without any regret for her decision to keep her . She loved Christian even though he betrayed her and she held her walls up till the bitter end , when she realized that he knew the mistake he had made and he was never going to leave them again ...

Great story , heartbreaking, emotional . definitely have tissues if your going to read it because you will need them trust me
