He also pretends that hippie culture never happened, on the grounds that people in the '60s dressed and lived in manners roughly comparable to those of the '50s. It would've been more honest to say that "the Sixties" happened in the '70s instead... (And, from what I know of the decade, I get the impression that its mental culture might've been more Seventies-ish than its physical culture was.
