What an ironic title: our heroine is anything but boring!

This book looks a one woman's experience of finding her marriage, suddenly and unexpectedly, at an end. This is a common occurrence, but one that is rarely widely discussed. We see a very raw portrayal of Diane's emotions and behaviour when her husband of many years leaves her because he's "bored".

In spite of dealing with heavy issues of shock and betrayal, the book is often laugh-out-loud funny as we watch Diane attempt to construct her "new normal". The ending is perfect....happy, but not all wrapped up.… (lisätietoja)

This had a lot more moments of being sad than being funny--bad pitching again. I did love the couple and their lawn next door.

Can't believe this book was not written in English. It does not feel like a translated book other than the French names, and it reads smoothly. I do not have a chance to read the first book in the series before this one. I was able to keep along and it kept me entertained. I wish it was a little longer. The story itself feels too smoothy and not much conflicts were going on. It was kind of all over the place for how short the book was but everything feels realistic.
Justine Eyre does a good job narrating. Each characters has a unique voice, so it is easy to distinguish who is talking. The speed and pacing are very relaxed but not slow.

Thank you NetGalley for this delightful book. It’s not deep, its not complicated. It is a story of a middle aged woman trying to get through her life after a divorce. She has friends, at the start of the book she gets a job, she has wonderful children. She needs rebound sex. Her husband left her for “The Bimbo” and now it’s time she had some manly companionship. This book will resonate with anyone over a certain age who has had it up to here with fake anything. Cheer her on. Would be fun for a book club or just a few friends drinking rose to enjoy it more.… (lisätietoja)
