Passionate concern is the exchange of care across religious and cultural
boundaries such as Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and African Traditional Religions. Assuming God’s care for all people, he asks Christians to define care in such a way that all people are included in the ethics of care. He has been criticized for de-emphasizing the Christo- centric focus of Christian faith in favor of cultural and religious relativism. Such a criticism is far from the truth because he is asking a profound ques- tion – What kind of care emerges from belief in Jesus Christ? His answer is that such care must be universal, as wide as God’s care for the created world. Anything less cannot be faithful to the vision of care we know in Jesus Christ.
This opens the door for dialogue with practitioners of Judaism, Islam and African Traditional Religions (ATR) who do not find their identity in Jesus Christ.… (lisätietoja)
