Gemma meets a man at a bar, and she is invited to go on an island. She persuades her sister, Nina, as well as her friends to join her, and while they are apprehensive, they agree to go since it sounds like a good opportunity for a getaway trip. There is one rule about the island: they cannot miss the ferry at midnight. However, the majority wake up having been drugged during the party, and they miss the ferry. One by one they're tracked down and discover a dark game taking place on the island, and they each need to find out quickly who they can trust. The story has a good pace and is seemingly never ending as trouble arises right, left, and centre.

Working as a volunteer nurse at a hospital, Ashley's instincts to help someone crying for help kick in. Kidnapped by the criminals, Ashley spends a night with dangerous people, who go back and forth from being threatening to hospitable, and she plans her escape and hopes she can make her interview the next day. There are inconsistent character arcs and behaviour, but this is a good cat-and-mouse story.
