Wilfred Knight

If you read my reviews, you’ll find that it’s only recently that this reviewer has started to read Christian books, books which are designed to help its readers by giving them the strength and knowledge to overcome their faults and weakness, to help them deal with things they’re facing in their lives, etc. The way these books have accomplished in doing this has been to give its readers specific scriptural quotations and readings, and then explaining how they fit into their lives and hopefully expanding their enlightenment and interest in the entire Good Book.

The author, in the beginning of his description for this book raises the question of “how much does the average person truly know about the bible?” And if I use myself as an example, not really that much, I’m sorry to say. What Wilfred Knight has done here in his book has been to shed some insight to the bible in a more humorous light, instead of the tedious light it can be at times.

However, the author also gives his readers a forewarning regarding the actual contents of the book, specifically in that it’s a layman’s sexual interpretation of certain lines of the bible, all of which fit under the same topic of each chapter in the chronological order of the bible itself. While these interpretations might seem shocking to some of those who read this book, given the kind of some of the romance novellas I’m current writing, I found the overall nature of this book to be rather intriguing and plausible if one really looks hard enough at it, while keeping in mind the satirical nature of the book.

For having given his readers [mostly males] this totally unique look at the bible in today’s times and terms, I’ve cautiously given this author and his book 5 STARS.

Stand Watie was the principal chief of the Cherokee's aligned with the confederate forces during the civil war. This is an enjoyable read focused mainly on the war years and campaigns but also include a prelude as to the issues between Watie and the John Ross faction of Cherokee prior to the war as well as the fallout of their defeat. A very well written, informative and enjoyable book written from a more sympathetic viewpoint then most histories. Coverage of battles as well as his personal correspondence with his wife is well done.… (lisätietoja)
