Cat Knight

This book was an atmospheric grabber from the first chapter and it kept up the tempo all the way to the end of the book.

The story revolves around Joanna Williams who moves into the Weaver House and interacts with some interesting characters. David Weaver is a strange one along with the cook and a gardener, but nothing is as strange and foreboding as the spirits that only Joanna can see that appear before her. No one else believes in the ghosts and she has to endure the nightly appearances along with the house coming alive. But not only the house has secrets, but the pond on the property holds something deadly and Joanna has to unravel the mysteries on her own.

This book was fast paced along with some spooky occurrences and this was my first book by Cat Knight, but it won't be my last. Three stars for this one.

Isobel McNair, a cop from the big city, moves to a sleepy coastal town (Ocean Point). The sky is always gray, there isn’t much to do, and she is wondering if she made a mistake moving here. She gets a call from a lady telling her that there is a lot of noise and screaming in the old mansion next to where she lives. Isobel goes to investigate and finds the house peculiar and strange. It is absurdly quiet in it at times, and some of it is well preserved for being abandoned for many years by the previous occupants. When Isobel asks around town about the house, no one wants to talk. This was a quick and easy-to-read short story. I liked the eerie and dreary setting of Ocean Point. I was curious about the history of the old mansion and to see how everything would turn out.

Writer Zandra Turner was in need of money when she was offered a job with a big pay check. All she had to do was stay at Gatesworld Manor and research the history of the house. She didn’t know she couldn’t leave...

This was a really captivating story. It was quick and easy to read at 104 pages. I found the manor an interesting setting for the book. I liked how Zandra would walk up and down passageways in the manor and the next time she went down them, rooms seemed to have disappeared, or moved to another floor. And then there was the crying woman at night. And the strange, unfriendly housekeeper Emily. Plus the mysterious estate manager Michael Hardcastle who offered Zandra the job.

A fast and very enjoyable read! I look forward to reading more books by Cat Knight.… (lisätietoja)
