This was an interesting book. I was under the impression that it was a children's book in the beginning and so it took me a while to get what I was reading.

While Lexi Goes On Vacation to the Outer Banks looks like a picture book based on the illustrations and font, it is actually the story of a family and their adoption of a dong names Lexi. The story itself is sweet, and the illustrations are great, but I found that pages had way too much text on them to read comfortably.

As well, the perspective seemed to shift from Lexi to the human perspective quite often and without transitions. That being said, the story is great, and if it was either presented in a more picture book like fashion with the same format, or as a more adult non-fiction tale using the same text, it would be incredibly successful.… (lisätietoja)
