If you’re looking for a unique Christian fiction novel, then look no further than The Ravensmoore Chronicles series! Regency novels have been multiplying at a fast pace lately, but this is an older one that had a mystery included – a rare find. In addition to the mystery element, this author also used her knowledge of mental illness to explore the world of asylums which were notoriously known for how poorly they treated their patients.

The title of the book was interesting to me because it just seems different for Christian fiction. However, it was quickly obvious why this word was chosen as one character’s ability to hide in plain sight was expertly written. The “chameleon” of the story ended up being the last person I expected!

There is only one more book to complete this series, and it focuses on the last sibling – Mercy. I’m anxious to see if her desire to follow in her brother’s footsteps as a doctor becomes reality.

**I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Jillian Kent again takes her readers back in time to the Regency period with another book in The Ravensmoore Chronicles — Mystery of The Heart. This time around youngest sister Mercy is the focus of the story. Intrigue and danger begin in the first pages and continue on to the conclusion. If you are a fan of Regency romance novels with an emphasis on mystery, you need to check out Mystery of The Heart.

Lady Mercy feels called by God to the healing arts. Her heart’s desire is to be a physician like her older brother Lord Ravensmoore. But the expectations of society and the restrictions of the times prohibit her from pursuing her dream in the usual way. So she dons a disguise and attends medical lectures as a man. But a stalker discovers her true identity and forces her to flee Scotland with threats and blackmail. A startling turn of events finds her tossed into the sea and washed up on the shore in England where Lord Eden finds her. This begins her attraction to the gentleman-adventurer charged with retrieving a legendary relic from Jesus’ life. Magic, faith and vodun (voodoo) are worked into this suspense-filled tale.

Mystery of The Heart is a light read that will please the Regency romance fan. Customs of the day, including the practice of medicine and the restrictions placed on women, are well-researched by Kent. The romance is a bit predictable, but I was rooting for Lady Mercy and Lord Eden from the beginning, so I didn’t mind. Other characters from previous books in the series play a large role in this concluding book. And Kent ends the story with an intriguing possibility for a new series (I hope) — adventures in New South Wales at the beginning of that colony’s existence.

A quick read with likable characters, mysteries surrounding ancient practices and relics — recommended for Regency genre fans.

Lady Mercy Grayson is not the typical member of English Society, she opens the book dressed like a male, and trying to make it to shore, after being thrown in the Ocean. What was doing in the Ocean?? The beginning of the third installment in the Ravensmore Chronicles. That being said, I recommend that your read the first two books, they are equally as good, but this can be read alone.
While Lady Mercy is lying on the beach, trying to breath from her ordeal, Lord Eden chances upon her. In the end he helps her, and cuts her hair...ugh! He tells the men on the ship that he has brought a boy to help and be his Valet...he has no idea who she really is.
You can just picture the surprise in his eyes, when she gives him the address of her sister, Countess Victoria, married to Lord Witt. He also finds out her brother is Devlin Grayson, Lord Doctor Ravensmore.
We are about to set out on a great adventure, one where Lord Evan has been charged to bring a relic to the Regent, and another where Lady Mercy, wants desperately to be a physician.
Will theses two be able to find a bit of romance between them, or will one of them end up dead, with all the evil that is going on?
This is a good, action packed Christian mystery, and I had to keep reading once I picked this book up!

I received this book through Charisma House, and was not required to give a positive review.

Loved this look into Historical England...this book takes place in 1818. We begin with an attack by very big bird...a Hawk...on Lord Stone. What is going on? We are at the beginning of a a big scary mystery.
Lady Victoria Grayson, has journeyed to London, now in good health, she wants to enjoy life. She has gone to the home of her physician brother, Lord Ravensmoore.
With all that is going on her path crosses with Lord Witt. Sparks begin to fly between the two, and the mystery deepens. Love how Victoria embraces her new healthy life, and how she lets God lead her.
Don't want to get away the ending, but it will surely surprise you and sadden you at the same time.

I received this book from First Wildcard Tours, and the Publisher Realms, and was not required to give a positive review.
