Badly written, good plot with several holes in it eg how do you get C4 from America to France by air in the post 9/11 environment? You just do it seems .Reid's biog is at http://www.michaelreidjr.com/what-we-do, and explains how he can write authoritatively on military topics, however, it is the words around the military theme that he falls down constantly. There is not one chapter where i was able to read through without having to rewrite sections in my head. Do you enjoy thriller authors like Lee Child and Lawrence Block? What about military thrillers by names such as David McCaleb, Ronie Kendig, and dare I say: Tom Clancy? Michael Reid, Jr. can stand against them all! Sins of the Father is my first military thriller and I have to tell you, it was like watching one of the best take action.

Logan is one of those special ops agents who takes failure to heart. After a huge loss against a terrorist cell, he feels he can't deal well with anyone else dying, but there's no rest for the emotionally weary. After a botched attempt to clear a terrorist facility in the mountains of Yemen, Logan finds he can't run anymore and must take action. Sadly, he's a man directly beneath the President- and who's up for re-election; with so much going on, Logan's absence is terribly obvious and a burning wick for an explosive story. All events brings the daring hero face to face against the very man Logan's been haunted by- BUT his enemy may be the only one to save our country from all out war.

Sins of the Father is all about the action, from beginning to the very end. As you read, you feel as though you're actually watching a movie. Reid uses a style of writing that's more than simply sharing; he kept me baited with each and every chapter. I developed a relationship with the main characters, and even a few on the side, because he was careful on how he presented every one. Also, I'm telling you, it's like many of the events were ripped right out of today's headlines (minus N. Korea) and felt like it all could truly be happening! Especially the parts where you just want to say terrorism simply is over.

You have to read this book- oh, but you have to know that Sins of the Father is book to of the Logan Falcone series. There is a book one, but you don't have to read it. I will now though ;) So grab yourself a copy of both books- you will like them. I guarantee it!

The Beyond Experience, by Michael Reid, Jr. tells how two men find a way to find What's Out There, when the brain is inactive. Death. But what they find is more than frightening, more than curious... But are they using the experiences or are the experiences using them?

Using prose that easily allowed me to form a relationship with every character involved, I couldn't stop reading. I wanted to know what was out there too, and why it pulled everyone in such a manner that boundaries were crossed and secrets were, well hidden.

I found this tale of fiction spiritual, philosophical and even frightening. It placed me in mind of the movie Flatliners, because the doctors pushed the limits; their curiosities causing them to go beyond extreme and place themselves and others in danger. I also saw myself attached to those most important, wanting them to succeed, regardless of the cost. Not many books do that for me.

I have to warn you, this is a science fiction novel, so you will receive a lot of medical information- but it's necessary. Well, maybe not all of it, but the books is so good, you want to know what's going on and how they'll do it.
