Hilde Hinton

The Loudness of Things Unsaid by Hilde Hinton is an amazing, creative story about a a young girl, growing up, firstly in Melbourne and then Sydney. Her mother has significant mental health issues and her father, with whom she lives, struggles to accommodate Susie's seemingly free spirited, imaginative personality. Achingly sad at times, but delightfully funny as well, For Susie life is peppered with interesting characters with whom she shares wild adventures and yet you sense there is a deep seated loneliness and disconnect from those she knows, even though she urges her friends to embrace the positive rather than the negative. I loved the story, and have looked at my few garden gnomes in a new light, thanks to Susie and Hilda Hinton. This is a must read!… (lisätietoja)
