Kenneth M. Heilman is currently the James E. Rooks, Jr., Distinguished Professor of Neurology and Health Psychology at the University of Florida, and he serves as director of the university's Memory and Cognitive Disorder Clinic and its Alzheimer's Disease Center.

This is a straightforward account of behavioral neurology, told in flat prose, enlivened by case histories. It is entirely about localization of brain function by analysis of lesions, and does not discuss functional imaging at all. This is the way I learned neurology originally, and it is still the area of study that fascinates me more than anything else about the field. The chapters are divided by functions, such as language, emotions, self awareness, memory and attention, with examples for each. One would not say that Heilman is a great prose stylist, but he is clear and the cases are sometimes fascinating.… (lisätietoja)
