This is the first book to describe the well-established and powerful therapy called Zero Balancing, and to explain how and why it works. Uniquely, this therapy touches simultaneously the bones and joints of the body and the flow of energy through them. Areas of the body where there is a loss of function or potential, through stress, accident or habit, may be restored to full vitality.

More generally, this is a book about the anatomy and physiology of energy: where it flows, how it behaves and its relationship to the structure of the body. Whether you are a health-care practitioner or a client of one of the many complementary therapies, this book will explain the very foundations of the use of energy in healing and show how to ehance the effects of any therapy which involves touch.

The book is written clearly, simply and eloquently, and includes illustratins by Gina Michaels-an artis and qualified Zero Balancing practitioner and teacher-which illuminate the text and convey the experience of a Zero Balancing session. Together with vivid examples of particular cients, their problems, their sessions and their experiences, this book brings Zero Balancing to life.

John Hamwee was a university lecturer for many years, and a consultant to a wide range of organizations. By teaching his clients how to think holistically, he helped many of them resolve difficult and intractable problems. Since qualifying as an acupuncturist, he has found that he can help people more by working with energy. He saw how energy medicine can break through the constaints which prevent people recognizing and living their full potential. On receiving his first Zero Balancing session, he realized that this therapy offered scope for even deeper healing and transformation-to levels that he had never imagined. He subsequently trained with Fritz Smith, MD, founder of the therapy, and quaified as a practitioner and teacher of Zero Balancing. He has his own Zero Balancing and acupuncture practice.

Fritz Smith, M.D. is a dedical doctor, osteopath and acupuncturist who spent many years in clinical practice seeking to combine what he knew about the body from the perspectives of both Western and Eastern medicine. Zero Balancing is the result.

This is an excellent book, particularly after you have taken the Zero Balancing Core I workshop. It really should be required reading. I found the writing to be clear, complete and perfectly in line with the information received in the workshop. I've been a practicing massage therapist since 1982 and a massage teacher since 1991. I took my first Zero Balancing workshop in November, 1999 and thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a tremendous amount of information to grasp from a different perspective, and as with any new technique, I felt pretty lost and overwhelmed when the group split up and we were on our own. Luckily, an associate of mine had purchased the book from the instructor and several months later she insisted that I read it. I am so grateful. I have to admit, I wasn't practicing the technique with any regularity and the reasons I took the workshop in the first place were fading. Well, this book has completely revalidated my understanding of this powerful work and I have just ordered my own copy! The information is totally inspiring, mind opening, and reinforcing for anyone serious about perfecting the art of Zero Balancing ... I recommend it highly.-Catherine McLean

Explaining energy is not easy. This book will help you to understand energy in the context of what Fritz Smith has brought to energy and bodyworkers. I recommend Fritz's own books: Innter Bridges and Alchemy of Touch.-J. Sims
