REVIEW: Lost points in grammatical errors, language, and abrupt ending.

Beast is the first book I have read by this author. It was a really quick read. I did enjoy the story and the characters, but would have liked to have more detail about the characters backgrounds. Who doesn't love a badass mma fighter, who is all alpha? Overall it is a decent, quick read and I will be looking into reading more work by this author.

Beast has had a shitty upbringing. He has been groomed from a young age to fight and be the best. His father has been his manager and biggest supporter, but not always in a good way. This is a life that Beast does not want, but had no choice but to do as his father said. Now, with his father out of the picture, Beast has to answer to his Uncle Carlos, yet another man who treats him like shit and looks at him for the money he can make. The day that Beast can get out from under his Uncle's thumb is approaching quicker than he had planned. When a love interest falls prey to his Uncle's wrath, Beast can no longer stand on the sidelines.

I liked Beast's character, he was hard working and driven. He was also one of the most arrogant, egotistical male characters that I have read about. For someone who is only 18, he sure as hell acted like he was much older. The way he speaks and the way the reader gets a sense of how he carries himself, make his character seem so much older than he truly is. I loved that we got to see the soft side to him in the way he cares for his mother and the new girl that he is fighting to stay away from. He definitely grabbed my attention and had me turning the pages to see where the story would lead.

Carlotta is an up and coming female mma fighter and tattoo shop owner. When she crosses paths with Beast, she finds herself thinking of him more than she anticipated. His broody personality sends red flags up even though he gets her motor running. She is sassy and smart and can give as good as she gets when it comes to banter and back talk. I really liked her character. I would have liked to seen more of a background story on her. Her past is somewhat hazy and there is not much detail about what her past holds.

Overall, this was a decent, quick read. I found some of it to be a little unusual so to speak. A 19 year old tattoo shop owner? I guess it is possible. The characters just seemed to be so much older than the ages that they were given. They carried themselves in a manner that twentysomethings do. As an editor and beta reader, I found a few other issues with inconsistencies in the story, but nothing that was so off that it would have had me putting the book down. I think it could use another round of editing and content cleanup. I am interested in reading more of this author's work and will be adding a few of her books to my tbr and my library.

I was really excited when I heard Lucii was writing a book and even more when I found out it was an MC read.

This is a fantastic debut book from Lucii, she has a storyline that flows beautifully and you can read continuously without any confusion.

We meet Alexis who I feel is a strong character, she knows exactly where her life is heading, and also has a best friend who she treats more like a sister.

Lauren is full of life and really takes no shit from anyone, she loves Alexis fiercely. The two of them together are a fantastic set of characters and there can be many laughs that come from both of them.

Cobra is a hot alpha male who is loyal to his MC and brothers. I feel that he doesn't care for life, and is as cold as ice, that is until he meets Alexis. There is something about her that he cannot forget, as much as he tries. He is normally a wham bam thank you man. But with Alexis this changes as he cannot seem to get enough.

What Cobra has to be mindful of though is does he want to bring Alexis into his dark world, she is pure and good, he is dark and cold.

A fantastic read from Lucii and this book does have a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more and anxiously waiting for book 2..
