Horace Greasley

I want to state a couple of things right up front.....i love history and grew up on my dads stories of WW2 in Europe- he was at Normandy and god -willing will be 90 on Christmas day. I am by no means prudish in any way, that thought is laughable, and lastly- i truly looked forward to reading this book.

That all said, i am so disappointed. The author says the words are all from WW2 vet Horace Greasley yet i find that hard to believe. The sequence of events are remarkable and noteworthy BUT ....there were a few times i did a double blink at the language and sex scenes. I repeat here that i am not in the least bit prudish. And i DID try to imagine my dad telling this stuff to a writer- I couldn't. Perhaps he thought it would add appeal for the reading masses? It didn't work. Instead it interrupted what could have been a really good memoir.… (lisätietoja)
