Some great b w illus from historic cookbooks, original menus. Looks at how the cookbooks and recipes changed over time. One also gleans information on the changing roles of women, the history of Denmark and Danish nationalism, the introduction of foreign recipes.

I note again, with interest, that the number of spices and herbs used in the 1600s and even farther back was far greater than the number used in later centuries. More understandable is the decrease in the use of game and the increase of other meats over time.… (lisätietoja)

The students in grades third through sixth grade would prefer to the science projects. There are many great and easy science experiments. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 because the experiments are safe and well-developed.
