We are constantly being told that growth is necessary for the economy. This book puts that myth to death by citing facts about the real costs of growth and by giving examples of communities in the US that have worked on ceasing or limiting their growth. It clearly shows how growth is detrimental rather than advantageous. It documents how the spin doctors make speeches about growth without any factual basis to back up this trend.
