Pretty brisk pace. Complicated mother-daughter relationships that add depth to the characters. A spunky old-lady neighbor is a little out of central casting, and the prose itself a bit flat. An engaging diversion that would probably not compel me to seek out more of the author's work.

Never Tell a Lie by Hallie Ephron

A fast paced psycological thriller. Tension mounts as the story progrsses with secrets slowly revealed, leading up to a shocking ending. Compelling, thrilling, intense. I was hooked from the first page.
I recommend Never Tell a Lie to those who enjoy a great suspenseful read.

Quick read and a fairly fun one. The feeling of things closing in starts early on and by halfway I wasn’t sure I wanted to read through all the advancing complexities as Emily gets wound in tighter and tighter in a web of lies, fraud, and murder.
The plot is awash in twists and the solution is tied up at the end with some new information, but altogether, quite satisfying and organized (as is only to be expected!)
Good summer read.
