I got this book for Christmas in my young 20's and I've come to mark this event as the moment I started taking my financial future seriously. The advice in Please Send Money wasn't new by any stretch but it was new to me. And young adulthood is when you're still figuring out who you are. From this book I realized that I liked goals, charts, and not being poor. I also liked feeling in control.

Financial health leads to freedom and that's been my reward for the wisdom I first learned here. I still have the notebook of monthly charts and tracking sheets I've kept since the beginning. My methods have evolved but I never stopped watching the numbers, and somewhere around 2007 I moved everything online and didn't look back.

Fast-forward to today, I still maintain these habits much to my wife's frustration and gratefulness. It's like diet and exercise. If you stop paying attention for too long, bad habits will take over.… (lisätietoja)
