Enos E. Dowling (1905–1997)

Mr. Dowling was dean emeritus at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary. He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.
Mr. Dowling was a man of God who started preaching at the age of 18. He often said he was so thankful that the Lord could could use a poor country boy from southern Indiana to serve him.

He served many churches in southern and central Indiana before assuming his position as dean with Lincoln Christian College and Seminary. The last church he served before coming to Lincoln was Traders Point Christian Church, Indianapolis.

After joining the staff of Lincoln Christian College and Seminary, he preached at many churches in Illinois, including Broadwell Christian Church and the starting of Elm Street Christian Church, Springfield. He attended several colleges and universities and had a passion for preserving old church documents and writing hymns. Mr. Dowling is also recognized as the individual who has compiled the largest collection of hymns written by the restoration movement. This collection is housed at the Lincoln Christian College and Seminary.
