In this second book of the Greyford High series we have Jeanette and Andrew’s story. In the first book I thought Jeanette was as everyone called her an “Ice Princess” but didn’t know the reason why she behaved this way, but we learn why and it is heartbreaking. She has suffered what almost every high school student has which is bullying and body issues that make her insecure, but she lets her insecurities get the best of her and take her down until her family move to Greyford. Her twin, Max is amazing, and they use to be close until she withdrew and he tries so hard to get their connection back so we fall even more for Max in this book. Andrew is a playboy with no cares in the world or so he would have everyone believe. He is silently suffering and deep down he hurts but doesn’t let his feelings show in case that makes him weak. These two had so much in common that you think they would click immediately, yet they were always at each other’s throats constantly balancing on that line of hate and attraction. I loved when Andrew finally realized he wasn’t this persona he showed the school and he wanted better for himself, then he started to find his attraction to Jeanette was so much more. I was happy that Jeanette wanted to better herself for herself and sought out help and encouraged Andrew to do the same so they can heal then be together. It had many twists and turns, angst, and steamy moments (steamier than book one, which I love). In the end the author handled their insecurities, ups and downs, and fighting to be better very nicely and it made for a great read. I was still unsure of Brook but here’s to hoping in her story we can connect with her or at least understand her better. I feel I liked this book more than the first because we got a lot more steam from the characters in this book even if I loved Derek the most.… (lisätietoja)

I have to say as a young adult book I thoroughly enjoyed this read. I do wish we had steamier moments between the main characters but that’s just me. I thought Derek was a jerk because he has had a crush on Amelia since they were little, but he has let his friends bully her and not stopped it for so long that he has let her slip through his hands. She has no interest in him any longer, well that’s what she likes to tell herself because she finds it hard to resist Derek and I think she wants to believe deep down he is a good guy and he really is but, he has let his immature friends dictate way too much of his behavior. When Derek finds out that she is interested he sets out to make himself a better man with the intentions of her being his. The push and pull kept me interested throughout the whole book and I adored Max as he became a great friend for Amelia to lean on. The things I didn’t like was Brook and Jeanette, these two have their own issues but the way they took their attitudes out on everyone else was annoying and disgusting. Brook was to me the worst friend Amelia could have and I know she comes from a bad home life, but she acts like she gets to dictate everything Amelia says and does, and that was beyond frustrating. I hope when I get to her story, we get to see the reasons why she is this horrible person even if she thinks she is helping a friend out. Friends don’t behave that way towards each other, yes they do help and give their advice yet Brook was just demanding and dictating their every move if I was around her I don’t think I could be friends with her especially when even Amelia knows nothing of Brook’s background just small things here and there. Also, yea the boys are said to be immature but what do we expect when they are immature boys in high school who don’t know how to handle their feelings or situations too well and they will act that way until they are forced to learn from their behavior like Derek does. Overall good read I just really wished it had more mature scenes with Derek and Amelia so that we could feel their attraction and passion. Great read but I really wanted some sexy and steamy moments with these two because I loved Derek and thought it would bring more to their story.

This book was an intense and emotional read that I loved so much. It follows Callie and Hayden who know each other in high school, Callie was the popular cheerleader while Hayden was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. Callie made a stupid impulse decision one day and it definitely had an negative effect on Hayden’s life, but Callie was just a naive and selfish teenager who didn’t understand actions have consequences and she suffers tremendous tragic that absolutely changes her outlook on life. My heart hurt for Callie and I understood why Hayden was so mad at her and didn’t want her around his college campus. Yes I said his campus because after high school Hayden transformed to the all American football god that ran the campus. Although I understood Hayden’s anger it still broke my heart when he lashed out at Callie because he has no clue what she had to endure, but once he does find out it changes everything. These two have suffered through so much in their lives and they don’t know how or if they can forgive themselves let alone each other to be together and if they can’t forgive can they even give the other their trust? This was intense but a beautiful read about learning to forgive not only others but sometimes one’s own self to be able to move forward.… (lisätietoja)
