Cathedral Chapter Diocese of Michigan

As one of the editors, I can't really give it an objective review. All the parishes existing in the late 1980's are included. Subsequently, the Diocese of Eastern Michigan was formed from the diocese of Michigan. The biggest lack in the book is a 20th century survey of from a diocesan perspective, as opposed to a parish perspective. A good small chapter on the history of Death congregations could also have been written as there was a fair amount of information available, but enough time to write it. Each parish (or mission) was to submit its own history with pictures, and a list of rectors (or vicars). About 85% did, but the remaining 15% had to be written by the editors from other sources, including some oral. One parish, Christ the King in Taylor, had two factions, but the editor only spoke to one not knowing the existence of the other faction. This elicited some criticism after publication. Only 9 libaries in Worldcat own this book at this point.… (lisätietoja)
