After a knee injury, June Hamilton takes a break from Broadway for the summer to return home to help out her brother and sister at her family’s amusement park, Starlight Point. The three siblings are co-owners of the park since their father’s recent passing. Years ago June left home for Broadway because she didn’t want to be tied down to the running of the park eventually. When she left, she also left behind her first love, Mel Preston, who is now head of maintenance at Starlight Point. Now that June and Mel have reconnected, old feelings resurface. But June is still planning on returning to Broadway once the summer is over.

This was such an enjoyable and sweet story. June and Mel were very likable characters. Mel’s five-year-old son, Ross, from a previous marriage was super-cute. I enjoyed how June brought her Broadway flair to the park in trying to revitalize the park’s theaters and to try to put on better and flashier shows and parades. I also liked how June started to see Starlight Point in a new light, more like home instead of the burden she had thought it was. I absolutely loved the setting of the amusement park by the beach. A wonderful read.

June Hamilton returned to her home in Starlight Point. She didn't want anyone to know she had injured her knee and was simply there helping out with the family business after the recent devastating demise of her beloved father. She hoped he truly understood her need to succeed on Broadway. She had several minor roles, but was yet to get that big opportunity to prove herself. She knew she had the talent to succeed when that one big break came. Now she was back to her "roots" and would do all she could to assist by using her talent to upgrade the Theatre and Saloon at the amusement park. She had never regretted leaving except for her dad and maybe Mel. He now served as head over all maintenance there. Her dad had always encouraged her to make the most of her life and to follow her dream. She was certain her understood. Mel on the other hand....
This is a story of a driven woman to succeed at every thing she does. She wrestles with the sudden loss of her father and with past love. Mel's son could have been hers. She was certain she had her priorities in order...or did she?
This is a fun, yet touching tale of choices and making the best of life. It is a tale of close family commitment and relationships. The reader is captivated throughout the drama.
With talented writing skills, Amie Denman has successfully brought the reader "into" the story. The characters seem alive. The background scenes delights and encompasses to reader as part of the story. The Title and Book Cover are very well chosen.
*I was sent this book in exchange for an honest review, of which I have given.
This earns a Five Stars rating.

Carousel Nights is book 2 in the Starlight Point Stories miniseries, and it was a delightfully, enjoyable read. The story focuses on Mel Preston, head of maintenance at the Starlight Point Amusement Park; and June Hamilton, part owner of Starlight Point. The two had dated for a summer seven years earlier when they were teens. June, feeling destined for the bright lights of Broadway in NYC, left Mel behind to pursue her dreams. Now she's back at The Point to help out her siblings, co-owners of Starlight Point, with various park upgrades for several weeks before returning to her life in NYC. It's not easy seeing Mel practically every day while he carries out tasks around the amusement park. And his adorable 5-yr. old son, Ross, is subtly stealing June's heart as well. It's becoming obvious that the two are still attracted to each other, but Mel's reluctance to act on his impulses stems from being left behind by June once before. And although she seems somewhat interested in rekindling their lost love, Mel knows he has to tread carefully because this time around he has another to consider besides just himself. So who or what will ultimately win out with June? Will it be the handsome maintenance worker that she left behind years ago? Or will she choose the fame and opportunity of a lifetime that awaits her back in The Big Apple?

This book really drew me in and held my attention. The amusement park setting was vivid and lively. I could feel the energy of the crowds, rides, and fireworks going off. I imagined Mel Preston busily going about his day handling varying degrees of emergencies, and June Hamilton, dressed in sparkly costumes, dancing in the Midway Theater. Little Ross's appearance in this book added an endearing quality. He was a sweet presence; not whiny or childish, but slightly mature for his five years, and the interaction between father and son was a joy to read about. There were also a couple of nail-biting scenes involving a storm and a fire that amped up the story and helped to move it along at a nice pace. I was on the edge of my seat at times eagerly anticipating the outcomes.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed this book. The romantic element was convincing and the ending was as sweet and satisfying as a hot fudge sundae after a plate of comfort food on one of your best days. Highly recommended.

Christmas at the Grand Hotel: White Pine Island Novellas #1 and #2
Liked the story line and thought cover was basic, simple and to the point. Am new to this author so excited to read this book and others.
Love the recap of the two books in this series without giving the whole thing away.
Island sounds so perfect! Love that it involves a golf course as I am a fan.
.
Ned and Bethany's story, White Pine Island by May Williams
Phillips family owns the huge Grand Hotel sitting on the bluff overlooking the ocean. Ned runs the golf course and he's compliant on all the regulations. There is a group that wants him to make changes...
Ned's sister Ellen took care of transportation..other cousins handled other areas. Mr. Hinkle and his daughter Bethany would tag along and not play. Ned couldn't believe how much she had changed over the years-she was now a knockout!
They cut that night short and went to the hotel to check in-she's got her own room, early for the wedding preparations of her sister. She's there to spy on Ned, sending pictures of the golf course to her old boss who will go after his course as it's not compliant with rules and regulations.
She has a lot of secrets and he hopes to find out about them all. Love her new career choice, same direction but getting an education for me. Also the history of the area is fascinating.
He hopes to get closer to her to find out her secrets....hot steamy sex scenes.
Misunderstandings arise and you wonder if they will continue their relationship....
Next in the series sound really good also, can't wait to read them.
.
White Pine Island Novella 2 by Amie Denman
Pete's family owns and runs the golf cart family business. He's happy on the island, an electrical engineer and there's just enough to keep him busy, things that challenge his mind.
Ellen also works for the family business on White Pine Island, in transportation part.
They are both lifetime friends over the years and both just want to work and inherit their families businesses when the time comes.
His father are ready to sell and move to the mainland... steamy sex scenes and you wonder how they will remain to be the best of friends ...
Really enjoyed this read also and can't wait for the next in the series.
I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
