This book was a great example of poems. The poems were short, usually just a page or two. The purpose of the poems were to tell the readers about the author's experiences growing up in Oregon. Most of them didn't rhyme, which can be beneficial to show to children.
The setting was descriptive and included both physical and emotional setting.
