Rovena has her hands full. She must keep the dead man alive. Yep, he arose again but this time with a new soul. And it isn't as easy as she may think. Rovena is a strong and touch chick that will do what she needs to to survive. She is a hunter. I found this book entertaining. It is wildly unpredictable, and I love this. This is a large factor on what pulled me in. From page 1, I was sucked in by the action (demon fight, anyone?). The characters are well developed. The story has a little of everything in it: humor, mystery, fantasy, paranormal, romance. This is one of the best paranormal books I've read this year. I literally couldn't put it down until I had finished it.… (lisätietoja)

Deliverance is a fast-paced read that will make you flipped more pages as you anticipate what will be the next obstacle that they will encounter as they travel towards their destination.

Tiger had been born at the Radcliffe Institute and spent 25 years there before he got the chance to escape. It was through the help of the other prisoner named Castiel, who makes his escape successful though he should not be happy about it. Gerard will do everything just to have him back again as he is the most valuable prisoner he has. For Tiger to have the freedom he wanted, Castiel gave him a mission, and for him to do it, he will need some aid from a woman. This woman named Kristina will be the one to help him in the mission, but he needs to make her believe first that he is not harmful and dangerous to her and Rose. Still gaining some trust from Kristina, along with their way, Gerard’s guard found them, and they need to flee already and travel to where Tiger really needs to go. As their journey starts, they will bump into some obstacles that meant to stop Tiger’s mission.

This was told from three POV’s: Tiger, Kristina, and Castiel.

The main character, Tiger, is so innocently hot and dangerous. Since he doesn’t know much about the humanities and all he only knows is that they are just evil and selfish creature, he was amazed to see that outside the institute, people like Kristina and Rose still exists. That there are still some people, who are kind and not selfish, just like what he experienced and see through the people inside the institute. It was so good to see that he slowly changed and learned how to have faith and gain some human traits he should have.

Kristina, on the other hand, is a very strong-willed woman. Even if she is already scared, she tries her best not to show any fear because she knows that that is what the enemy wants.

Oh! I also want to read the story about the other characters written inside the book.

I liked how I was engaged in reading this book. I can’t stop myself from turning the pages because I am looking forward to what will happen next.

I only dislike the part where Kristina and Hayden/Tiger instantly had done something which they’re not supposed to be doing since they only just met for only a short time.

I am recommending this is you are a paranormal lover. If you had read Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, this one is almost the same with the concept except that this is not exactly like it.

Disclaimer: I received a reader copy from the author via YA Bound Book Tours.

While Deliverance is classified somewhere as either Young Adult or New Adult, I think it leans more towards the New Adult genre. 1) the ages of the main characters. The female protagonist is 18 and the male one is 20-something. 2) there’s some steam, enough to cloud your vision but not enough to completely blind you.

Moving away from what I think about the genre classification, this book was unexpectedly good. I signed up onto this blog tour on a whim. I told myself, “You know, let’s not shun those boy-meets-girl kind of summaries. It’s inevitable. Those summaries are everywhere. Let’s face it, and who knows? You may end up liking it.” But the thing that really drew me to this book was the mention of freedom, entrapment, and identity. And I certainly was not disappointed.

The characters were really well-developed and I would be able to (and gladly) write out a detailed analysis for most of them, but let’s just leave it at that for the sake of keeping the spoilers to a minimal. But really, just read it for the characters. It’s worth it. Or you could read for the plot, with its great pacing and enough secrets and action to make sure you continue to read on.

A few days ago, I was discussing with someone on Facebook about how romance in books should focus on something other than the appearances of both parties, then I started reading Deliverance, and I can’t believe I’m saying this but, I like the romance. I really like the romance in this book. The romance was hindered by “her” distrust of “him”, and “him” having the mentality that “she” was just a means to an end. It certainly took awhile to build, but I loved every moment of it. Also, did I mention that “his” lack of knowledge about human customs makes him such a precious and polite cinnamon roll (but let’s not forget that he’s still pretty deadly)? I adored the fluffy moments so much I didn’t even care when steam got into my eyes.

As I was finishing the book, the thought that I may have just found my first five-star read of the year crossed my mind (ok granted I’ve only read like 20+ books so far for the year BUT THAT’S IRRELEVANT). So what hindered me from doing so? The writing. It was easy to understand but at times, it felt repetitive. I understand that throughout the journey, there may be some recurring thoughts that pop into the characters’ head every now and then, but after reading paraphrased versions of the same thoughts like four or five times, it kinda gets boring.

On a side note: I’m probably over-thinking as usual or my mind is just running wild right now but I just couldn’t help but think about Tokyo Ghoul while reading this book. It all started with the quote “Had we met under different circumstances, I would have liked to get to know him better, but his story is obviously a complicated one.”

Secrets of the Moon (The Secrets of the Moon saga, #1) by Kristy Centeno

Young Marjorie had a near death accident slightly over a year ago. Trying to get her life back together, while in college she meets a mysterious, angry young man, Kyran. They soon become friends, maybe even more. But Kyran and his family are hiding a secret. A secret that is soon going to alter Majorie's life forever.

The plot is original, Majorie is very likable. She is overcoming a very bad incident and trying to cope with the consequences. Then she meets Kyran and is faced with new challenges one being danger.

Kyran is likable as well. He is different than most of the college boys she knows. Yet he has an air of intrigue about him. Overall I found Secrets of the Moon A fantastic story filled with drama, secrets, action and love. A definite five-star read, I highly recommend to young/Adult as well as Adult readers.
