Dominic Catalano

Summary: Mr. Basset, Walter, was a very wealthy dog and he had everything that he ever wanted. Although Walter had everything that he could want he still was not very happy. Walter tries many things to make him happy but after looking he gives up hope. After weeks had passed Walter's friend takes him to the park where he found kids playing baseball. The kids asked him to play with them. Walter made new friends and he finally found out what it felt like to be truly happy.
Personal reaction: This book had a very good message. It goes to show that a person can have all the money but still not be a happy person. What makes a person happy is usually the things that are priceless like family and friends.
Classroom extension ideas: The class could play games to interact as friends. Another idea would be to have the class write out a list of all the things they would do if they had all the money they could imagine!… (lisätietoja)
