I enjoyed this book. It took me a little bit to snap out of annoyance at the characters in the beginning when they first saw each other. One minute you know they recognize, the next they are saying “it’s me” and seeming surprised. Then there was the harping on old feelings and anger towards the other that all suddenly seemed to go away once they said hi. But overall, that was a minor quibble at the beginning. The book got better with the characters, and I loved Finn. This was really sweet, and it was nice to see Josiah and Finn reconnect and reunite after 10 years, even if it did seem a little too perfect with the lack of angst. Don't get me wrong, I prefer low angst, it just seemed very unlikely that things would work out so perfectly with a huge prize on the line. It was good, though.

I'm trying to work out what exactly to say about this one. I won't give such a low (for me at least) rating without some kind of explanation though. What I can say is that it didn't work for me. I struggled finding a connection with these MC's. I do feel that one of the reasons was that the boys didn't feel "real". They read more like a cardboard cut-out rather than a living and breathing character I could become invested in. In the end I just didn't care about their story.

I'm rather disappointed to be honest, I was looking forward to this story. It hasn't soured me on this author though, I still (usually) enjoy her work.… (lisätietoja)

Overall the book was cute, it started off promising, but I found that the intimate moments were extremely lackluster, I can't hold it fully against the book even though that's a part of it, because I did like Colton & Winter.
There were a few other annoying moments in the book, I'm all for a sensitive man but this went above and beyond what I would consider "sensitive". Given the circumstances anyway. and there was no real "climax", normally there's a moment in a book where you think, oh, it's not going to end well, this one didn't really give me that moment.

Winter's hobby was amazing though, and I wish I could put into words how I picture what he does for a living, because it's magical, and I need that in my life.

Overall, though, it was a cute Christmas story.… (lisätietoja)
