- It appears that Frederick W. Davis of New Bedford Mass. who also wrote dime novels as Scott Campbell (Felix Boyd series), was also one of the many writers who worked under the Nicholas/Nick Carter dime novel pseudonym, c1890-1915. He can at least be credited with the Carter title 'Reaping the Whirlwind'.
Not to be confused with the early mystery writer F. C. Davis
