I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. I love love love Oliver. I also have a slight weakness for those nerdy hotties too.

Oliver, he has a plan. A plan for his entire future. He wrote this plan in high school and has made a few alterations to the plan--the basics remain the same. Go to college. Go to law school. Marry Violet. Make partner at his family's law firm. Violet breaking up with him was not part of the plan nor was her spending the majority of the semester abroad. Since Oliver loves plans so much he made another one. One to get Violet back. Win her heart back. Convince her to give him another chance. For this plan to work, he need help from a very unlikely source--Taryn, Violet's roommate. Taryn and Oliver have never seen eye to eye. They barely tolerate each other.

Taryn is struggling with finishing up her studies. It doesn't help that she's finishing a degree she doesn't even want--Communications. But she's less than a year away from finishing. To make things worse, her best friend in the world leaves for six weeks for study abroad. And she feels sorry for nerdilicious and decides the help the poor sap win Vi back even if Taryn thinks the two are not right for each other. Vi needs to spread her wings. Nerdilicious just needs to chill more. So in return for helping him with Vi, Oliver will help her with this stupid communications paper. Taryn gets more than she bargained for. In a matter of weeks, she goes from missing her beloved roommate to not wanting Vi to return. What will happen when Vi does return? Will Oliver go running back to her? Of course, he will. He made a plan in freaking high school. She can't let him abandon all his plans for a few days rolling around in bed together. But she also can't watch Vi with Oliver either. What will she do?

She Laughs in Pink is a fabulous love story that I couldn’t put down. It captured me from the very first chapter and held me captive throughout the entire book. It is filled with raw emotion, drama and amusement. It is about college life, friendships, overcoming the past and dealing with life’s difficulties. Then there is the sizzling hot romance.

The setting is a college campus and the actual dormitory that our characters live in. They are a group of various personalities that each give the story rich and quirky enjoyment. The characters are diverse in their personas and each one adds to the flavor of the storyline. They are well developed and fleshed out causing the reader to fall in love with them.

This is a highly emotional novel with feelings running the gamut. I was fully engaged with the characters problems and them trying to overcome them. I felt torn apart and then delightfully put back together again. She Laughs in Pink has an artsy theme to it that is charming and appealing to the imaginary senses, as Jessica Calla describes her characters and the things they do. Readers will find themselves wanting to live at the Sheridan Hall dormitory, I know I did. The way Jessica Calla portrays college life is exciting, alluring and just phenomenal, even with its ups and downs.

She Laughs in Pink is an incredible love triangle story. The Main characters, Juliet and Chase both come from back grounds of hardship. With Chase being a bad boy type due to some bad choices in his past, it makes for a rich, satisfying and realistic read. The secondary characters are really exceptional. Jessica Calla has managed to write various different personality types and she writes them well. Readers will love these characters and they will hold their interest immensely.

The plot and storyline flows and the writing is phenomenal. Jessica Calla has a unique voice that I found refreshing and creative. This is a must read novel that readers will relate to and be completely entertained by. She Laughs in Pink is the first book in Jessica Calla’s “Sheridan Hall” series.

This book just wasn't for me. I never really connected with the characters nor the romance.

Juliet was hard for me to like. Her POV and how she was perceived in the POV never clicked for me. While I didn't flat out hate her, she wasn't winning any awards either. I also have no patience for heroines in a love triangle and that sure didn't help matters.

Chase was OK. I really felt like his character development was too rushed at the end. I would have liked to have explored his character earlier on.

I really enjoyed the first few chapters, but I found myself getting bored with the story. I wish the events that happened at the end came to light earlier to keep my interest. It just felt like too much at once and really rushed everything.

The romance was also lacking for me. A little too insta-love and the love triangle angle didn't help either. While I thought they had great physical chemistry, I wasn't particularly rooting for them to be together either.

So while I appreciate the vision for this series, it just didn't work for me.
