In 1919 Boston was flooded with molasses. It killed many people especially children. This book tells about the tragic event in a way chlidren can understand.

I enjoyed the book. I have read different stories about and think this is the most appropriate one for children.

For an activity, children could write a fake news story about the event,

Hans was not the most skilled comparing to the super detailed silhouettes (see page 61) but certainly incredible and creative in sharing his very impressive talent (see page 58 and other samples in book)
