I enjoyed reading this book with my daughter. It was a nice way to show that all kids have their differences, and that's okay. We enjoyed the detailed illustrations, and the thought bubbles from each kid.

My kids loved this one! It's a popular read in our house, and I bought a second copy to keep in the car!

This book starts out OK, with rhyming text and colorful full-page (or double-page spread) pictures describing one child and what s/he likes and (sometimes) dislikes. But every four pages, there are the questions "What do you LIKE? What DON'T you like?" with numerous kids on the page and speech balloons giving their likes and (often oddly-contrasting) dislikes. It gets old fast, and I think hurts the message that everyone is different. I think the book would have been better with only one of the questions spreads, near the very end. The last page has mostly-empty speech bubbles with just "I like" or "I don't like" in them and plenty of room for kids who can write to add their own words. Paperback with title on spine.… (lisätietoja)

This beautifully illustrated book features loads of children sharing what they like and what they don't like. The entire book is dedicated to this concept. Three times the text asks the reader "What do you like? What don't you like?". The story teaches kids that they can be themselves, that whatever their preferences are, they are theirs to own. It teaches kids to have their own voice. Maybe this is a good starting point to discuss following the crowd, trends and cliques.
