Mia Birk

A long, comprehensive narrative detailing how Texas-transplant Mia Birk made Portland, Oregon the bicycling capital of the US. I believe she had a co-author but even that couldn't temper her voice, which I found gratingly optimistic, as did I'm sure many of her co-workers over the years. I really hate any woman who says "GO GIRL!" I can't help it; I just can't. I'm impressed by her accomplishments but I would have rather read a condensed version without being introduced to all of the characters along the way. If that's your thing, go for it. I am sure I cycle today in large part because of the strides she has made, but I don't really want to read about them, apparently. A book written by city planners FOR city planners? Perhaps. Definitely not a book for me.… (lisätietoja)
