This... is a very silly book. If you've got a toddler at that stage where poop is the height of humour, then by all means, get them this book. I admit the joke wore thin for me, an adult who thinks farts are about the normal amount of funny, less than halfway through the first read, but I also fully acknowledge that I, an adult who thinks that farts are about the normal amount of funny, am not the target audience.

I am not sure why but very young children seem to go through a phase of fascination about poo. So when I got this book I read it to my very own “poo-ologists” my two grandsons. They were immediately interested.
It is tastefully done and the illustrations are comical. I know that sounds strange given the subject material!
A Daddy rat goes on an excursion to the zoo with his to young rat children. Just like we have done with the boys he firmly warned that there would be no more poo talk. Staying a bit behind and out of his hearing range they not only discuss it but allow their imaginations to soar. They were hilariously creative.
This was not limited to zoo animals but assigning imaginary entertaining poo to other creatures and even people of different occupations. The boy’s favorite was the shiny astronaut poo. My two littles appropriately “ew-ed” and yucked at differently places in the book, But the smile on their faces and their intense interest showed they were duly impressed! The boys thoroughly enjoyed the book!
I received this book LibraryThing Early Reviewers Program and Tundra Books in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated are my own.

The Big Bang And Other Farts is the cutest children's book. The illustrations are eye catching and perfect to grab little one's attention. The book is humorous, but also educational and my children love it.

Listen. It’s not just young boys who like fart jokes! It’s 2023 people and my daughters giggle endlessly about ‘tooting’ and I’m ok with that. So I definitely had my 15 mins of being an awesome parent when we read this book. It also sparked a discussion about Egyptian Sphinx and the Pyramids, so that’s a positive! The illustrations are colorful and the storyline is fun. The creative way of the Dad thinking he’s going to watch a real history show reminded us a little of how Bandit might joke around in Bluey. If you’re going to review a children’s book read it to a child. My kids loved it and it can spark more ‘proper’ historical discussions! I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy.… (lisätietoja)
