Costa Brava - originally published as Vervolgde Minderheid. Santiago Capmany meets 12-year-old Juan José on a visit to Spain. Juan José had been orphaned and Santiago befriends him, taking him to his uncle in France. Santiago is smitten by the boy, but never touches him during all the time they are alone together.

Frans Rivière is a teacher in his 30s who falls in love with one of his pupils, fifteen-year-old Louis Hendriks. The boy returns his love. They visit the beach one day and are arrested by the police when embracing and touching each other. Rivière is sent to prison and forbidden from having any contact with young boys.
