Christopher Bergland

I have read and own dozens of books on running, fitness, triathlons and exercise. This book by Chris Bergland is absolutely one of the best. He is extremely motivated and an inspirational athlete who practices what he preaches. The book is filled with inspiring quotes and gives the begining novice as well as the seasoned veteran a wealth of advice. I find myself turning to this book often and finding new training techniques and inspiration to meet my goals. If you are serious about your athletic aspirations then I would highly recommend reading this book.… (lisätietoja)

Bergland is a wonderful vehicle for conveying the athletic mindset, and how to engage your psyche so you can achieve your personal fitness goals. His personal experiences and neuroscientist father lend credibility to the physiology that dominates Chris's explanations.

Chock full of quotes, the pages scream inspiration for fitting exercise into your day and your life. I must have dog-eared half of the pages to revisit the quotes that Bergland intensely applies to his own athletic discipline. By the way, his discipline may be a bit intense, but cut the guy some slack. After all, he has mastered the power of manipulating self-talk, perception, and mind over matter. If you can embrace or even adopt just a few of his many strategies, I commend you. There is no need to become like Chris. He runs miles and miles...and miles...in locations we can barely imagine enduring without sunscreen, a hat, a bucket of ice water, and a lounge chair.
