Dex Bass

I'm giving this a solid 3.75. I enjoyed it, but I felt like there were some flow problems.

Higgins, the perfect butler, had once been the butler for Nik, the ultimate rocker. He lasted for a month before he had to leave. Now, 10 years later, Nik is coming to stay with Higgins' employer. This may be their second chance, can they be happy?

So, as a child of the '80s and a fan of Magnum PI, I saw Higgins the Butler as Higgins from Magnum. Of course, that means that Nik had to look like Magnum. I don't always have such clear picture in my head of the characters, but it really showed up here. I think it made me enjoy the book a bit more for me to have such a clear idea of who they looked like in my head.

Overall, the book was pretty good. Most authors have issues with flow at one point in time or another, so that doesn't lessen my enjoyment, it just makes it feel a little jumpy. And that's just my opinion, YMMV.… (lisätietoja)

We've met Edwin and his beautiful son Davey before, so getting to see Edwin have his story is pretty awesome. One thing I really like about these stories is that the language is a little OTT in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way, in my opinion, and it's pretty cool.

Edwin is speeding to Davey's volleyball in Johnny Omega's Lambo, you know, as one does, when he gets pulled over by a gorgeous alpha cop, Rex. Edwin is all sassy and flirty with Rex, and Rex pretty much likes it. But they both figure that they will never see each other again.

But then, Rex decides to apply for a security position at Omegaverse, and they have an encounter of the intimate kind, which makes both of them think about what their lives are going to be like.

Rex and Edwin are really sweet together, and I was so glad to see Higgins being his normal Higgins self and doing what he does. I have to admit, Higgins is cool af. But back to Rex and Edwin, they are really sweet together and I love how Rex is with Davey.
