This wasn't what I expected. I guess what I was hoping for is more recent than what this series of books covers. The book begins in the 1500s and is essentially just a history of black people in this part of the U.S.; I was hoping to learn about more modern migrations, why we have such large numbers of Ethiopians in the area, etc.
