Wow. This so makes me glad I'm long out of high school. I was really struck by how realistic the story felt. I kind of got PTSD just looking into these characters' lives. It's like Facebook on steroids, and if people don't like you in this club, you're out. Social media is scary enough when used by grownups, and teenagers can turn against each other just like that. I felt Livi's desperation, and I'd follow this story into whatever would come next.

The characters are wonderful, and I believe most high schoolers can relate to the situations in this book. It shows how social media can make or break you, and how often time people find it so easy to believe everything they read/hear instead of finding out the truth for themselves. One post on a web page by someone who is looking to bring you down can do just that- bring you down. In situations like this, you find out who your true friends are.

Times sure have changed since I went to high school.

We used to pass notes in class, not text. We also didn't have a secret In-crowd website that rates popularity and determines if you are In or Out. Livi feels the pressure of wanting to stay with the In crowd, and enjoying the popularity that comes with it. But that status is not easy to maintain. I liked her conflict with this situation was portrayed in the book. Livi was shown as very honest, good and bad, as she comes to terms with what it means to be part of populatti.
