This book gives a very basic introduction to the technique of double knitting... and a great deal of information about shaping double knitting for garment construction. Many patterns for double knitted garments are included. This is the main point of the book. I'm a little sceptical about adjusting gauge (my doubleknit gauge is *much* wider than tall, even compared to other double knitters; I recently completed a series of blanket square supposed to *be* square and they turned out 9" x 12") to make an entire Nordic sweater in double knit. I'd almost rather make two sweaters in the same pattern, it would probably be quicker and definitely better-fitting.

All the designer has to say about that is "swatch".

Some of the smaller or less-fitted patterns are quite lovely and I wouldn't mind trying them. But this is not the book to correct any deficiencies in my double-knitting techniques.… (lisätietoja)
