This book brings up lots of topics that could be used for discussion. Among them are: how does God answer prayer and what do you do if the answer isn't what you want?, how does God initiate change within a person?, and how does our past influence our present?

I thought it odd that the discussion questions came before the ending of the book. (Most books with this format put them after the epilogue, not before.)

I grew a bit frustrated with the well worn "guy feels like he has to be strong and not burden his wife with his feelings of inadequacy" theme but the author did it well and it was believable for this character.

I haven't read this book before but some of the flashback scenes seemed familiar to me. It made me wonder if I'd read an excerpt or another piece by the author that used some of those same scenes--even though I can't place where I would have encountered this.… (lisätietoja)
