Erotica Romance
I remember loving the characters and wanting to read more in this series.
But like everything from years ago, it got lost in my shelves.
It's actually really cute with both characters learning some very new things about themselves at Club Dishabille. They are both very new to the scene.

I have added the 2nd book to my tracker and hope it's on sale soon!
I may need to create a new shelf for some of these books that I read years ago so I don't forget about them again. The question is, 'What should I name the shelf?'

This story has everything a reader would want and more. I was drawn in the first few lines. Aoide does an outstanding job of creating a world that could possible happen. Each of the characters are well crafted and complex. I don’t want to give too much away. I want you to have your wow moment!
I was just wowed by this book. However, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Aoide. All of her books are solid works of art.
If you enjoy suspense, sex, love, deceit, longing, and true understanding then you have come to the right place.

This seems to be the first novel in a series of three. It does not have an annoying cliff hanger, it can be read as a stand alone.

I liked that the female main character (Dahlia) was for once not a trembling virgin, but a woman who had been married before, with a child from that previous marriage and an ex-husband she is still (close) friends and business partners with. What was a pity was that I remember her claiming somewhere that she had never orgasmed from sex before, that seemed odd.
I also liked that the male main character, Alex, was for once not the magical allknowing overexperienced bdsm guru, but instead a (relative) beginner too, same as Dahlia.

They way Alex and Dahlia meet seems farfetched, but okay, it's fiction. The pace at which the bdsm relationship as well as their entire relationship moves forward seemed way too fast. The bdsm depicted comes across as the very vanilla kind, btw. The focus of the novel seems more on romance than anything else.
And that's exactly where the rub is, as far as I'm concerned. Their romance seems to develop without basis, rushed even.

A major turnoff reared its ugly head in two places at which Alex's age is contemplated in the novel. In two separate instances he is portrayed as looking so young that the characters doubt if he's underage or not. At one point we are told he could be 15 years old by the look of him. Eeeeewl! Also, I have to admit, on more than one occasion he seemed to act suspiciously like a fifteen year old instead of an adult male.… (lisätietoja)
