Six Years After D-Day Cycling through Europe, by Marie Bennett Alsmeyer (read 23 Aug 2011) The author and her husband in 1950 bicycled in France, England, and the Low Countries and this book was published in 1994. It is a quite interesting book, showing how much the countries through which they traveled still suffered from the damage sustained in the war. Some of the reflections of the author are poignant. They took a trip which they would never forget, and one has to admire them and the friends they made on the trip. This book was better than I expected.… (lisätietoja)
