A collection of often offbeat and bizarre essays (18 true stories, as the blurb says), “Wild Brothers: Maine Animal Tales” is not quite the warm and fuzzy book of nature vignettes from the Pine Tree State that I had anticipated. Included are tales of road kill cuisine; a rat infestation; and; believe it or not, a woman who breastfeeds a foundling bear cub. Otherwise, broadly speaking, this is geared more towards hunters and fishermen rather than birders, and therefore not quite up my alley (or nature trail), though the hunting and fishing crowd may find much more of interest here than I did.… (lisätietoja)
