L'économie de la Révolution Française Tekijä: Florin Aftalion
The author analyses the financial and economic state of the French Monarchy on the eve of the Revolution and then proceeds to explain how inflation and hyperinflation caused by the massive emission of "assignats" caused grain scarcity and then famine and led to the radicalisation ending with the Terror. Well-argued and very readable.
He also offers as further reading several contemporary texts showing that the consequences of this financial policy were well understood.
