I received this book through the early reviewer program and just wasn't sure. I don't read many mysteries anymore, but this book really grabbed me. The characters are great and the ending was really a surprise. The romance element does not beat you over the head, but you would have to have a heart of stone not to love Lucy and Sean together. A great mystery. A great start to a new series! ( )

I received this ARC from Librarythings Early Reviewer contest.

Truly, Madly was a very quick read. The main character Lucy Valentine is funny and down to earth. The romance embedded into a mystery has the feel of other popular novels but Heather Webber composes it with ease and style. I look forward to her next Lucy Valentine escapade. ( )

This book is not in a genre that I would normaly consider reading. I requested it so that my wife could read it. When it arrived, she was dismissive of the book, so I sat down to read it myself. It was definetly worth my while.

There were several times when I feared it was going to degrade into a romance novel. Gratefully, the story came back to be more about the mysteries and less about the romantic subplots.

Most of the characters are not developed completely. The plot moves along quickly though, so the glossing over of some of the characters does not hurt the book. There are many unlikely coincidences that and twist, but for the most part they kept me wondering what was going to happen next.

I finished the book in one day. I did enjoy the mystery. The psychic portion was interesting, but sometimes a little strong. The romace part was minimal, but when it was present it detracted from the story.

My wife decided to read the book after I did. She read it in three hours straight. If you are the intended audience, I am sure you will love it. Even I am interested in reading the sequel when it comes out. ( )

Lucy Valentine comes from a long line of matchmakers, however unlike her successful relatives, she lacks the gift that enables them to make perfect matches. Instead of being able to see auras, she can find lost objects if she touches someone. When her father has to temporarily leave the business to avoid scandal, he leaves the work to Lucy. Lucy might not be able to see auras, but her own psychic ability gets her into trouble of her own.

I absolutely loved this book. The heroine was clever, fun and interesting. The hero was adorable. I loved the mix of mystery and romance. I could see this as a TV series easily enough. I enjoyed reading it on this snowy NE weekend.

(The only thing I didn't like was the title. I kept adding "Truly, Madly, Deeply" which is the title of a Savage Garden song. If I can't remember the title, St. Martins, how can I recommend this book to others?) ( )

Lucy Valentine is a delightful, well-rounded character. Her family, as legend has it was blessed by Cupid with the ability to read peoples' auras, which are then used to find their true love. However, Lucy's ability was lost when she was zapped by lightning at age 14; it was replaced by the ability to find lost objects by touching the owners' hand. Even though her family is wealthy she has decided to strike out on her own and make her own way, but due to unforeseen circumstances, she has to take over the company while her father is away for two weeks.

This was an easy-to-read, enjoyable book! It combines humor, mystery and "chic lit." The supporting characters are also realistic, likable and you can relate to them. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
