This diminutive volume is a touching and passionate collection of love letters written by some of history's most notable men. Quoting the likes of Napoleon Bonaparte, Amadeus Mozart, John Adams and Vincent Vanogh, the book offers an intimate look at the beauty--and often, desperation--love ignites within the male soul. Though one or two of the letters seem a bit over-wrought, in general, they are emotionally stirring missives that bring to the surface the definition of true, lasting love. The words that spill from each page are often surprising and insightful, given their individual sources.
I enjoyed this book immensely. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer. What a wonderful Valentine's Day gift it would make! ( )
