Both of these are books I've been looking forward to, and so were specifically selected for my vacation. I have some other great books on tap for July, like Out Stealing ... ... Algebra Demystified and The Telling Pool.

And it's not even so much the main plot that I find so interesting.. it is the very way that he writes about sound and music itself. I still have to read anything else by Vikram Seth. I had been a great Vikram Seth fan until I read it -- and still am (on the theory that every great writer has one bad book in him). But I may be in the minority here (on An Equal Music, I mean). ... or private comments on the profile page if you wish to communicate 1-on-1.
Anyway, I did not know about the CD for An Equal Music. The book was given to me as a gift. I will definitely check out that CD! I'm hoping I get to it this month; my reading slowed down for a couple ... The ability to write about music in such a way that you can practically hear it is really magically to me.

... "the Trout", "deafness" and "Vienna", so I threw in Cold Comfort farm to obfuscate the author's name. But evidently An equal music isn't as widely-known as I thought. Oh well... ... I don't have A Suitable Boy, but I do have Seth's An Equal Music. I'll start with those. #33 A Suitable Boy is on my summer-read list. What did you think of it?
