Having said that, I will say that Gene Wolfe alone proves that the best written fantasy is better written ... ... not enough of the decent character and plot side of things.

Welcome to the group. I took a look at your library and noticed Like Water For Chocolate. It's one of my favorite movies, so I looked on Amazon and found that it is available in a Kindle edition, so I got it. Then I saw the 'people who got this' section and noticed Chocolat and ... Like Water for Chocolate by Laura Esquivel is pretty short. I'm not sure if it's under 200 pages, but I remember reading it in a day. It's about a family in Mexico, but my explaining of it won't do the book justice.

The Lone Pilgrim and ... It's a good thing I read this thread; I read Like Water for Chocolate a bit ago, and had no idea it was on the list! I might be getting a little too excited about crossing things off the list, I'll admit.
To return to topic, I finished Cat's Eye and am now reading The Red Queen by Margar ... ... movement of A Dance to the Music of Time, finishing up The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, which is fantastic, and starting Like Water for Chocolate.
