It's a quick, fast-paced read, I blew through it pretty much in one sitting - didn't want to put it down. Chase and Zahara are smoking hot together but there are also sweet and tender moments. Zahara is such a great character - independent, badass stuntwoman, but vulnerable as well after a difficult childhood. Chase is an up and coming movie actor, but so down to earth and such a family man with his mom and sisters, and ultimately Zahara as well. I highly recommend this book and all others in the series. ( ) Is this the beginning of the end for the Renegades? Will Zahara ever find her happy ending? Can love really conquer all? Rapture is the magic of what love can do. It's power can turn strangers into one big happy family. It shines a light on what it means to hope and pushes us to facing our fears. After all without risk there is no reward. With Chase and Zahara, Skye Jordan shows how a leap of faith can help mend a broken heart. Love is a master of disguise. It's not always kind. It's messy, heartbreaking, irresistible, irrational and inspiring. There is no limit to the adjectives that describe love, but if you get it right it's worth it in the end. Jordan got it right. Rapture is so worth it. Zahara is such a bada$$ stuntwoman but with a really soft center. Her attraction to Chase Layton is undeniable but she's too professional to let her guard down and give in to him. But Chase wants more with her and manages to breed enough trust so that she allows him in. And it is glorious, until she has to leave on her next assignment. Unfortunately busy schedules and missed calls lead to her returning to find out that Chase is back with his ex. Only it's a PR stunt. But now Zahara won't give him the time of day. Yeah Chase could have been more forthcoming and I felt his excuses were a little lame but to a point understandable under the circumstances. What develops further will lead to spoilers but I will tell you that it is a very nice surprise and opens up a whole new side of Chase to Zahara that eventually teaches her that she needs to risk her heart and allow herself this new experience too if she ever wants the happy ever after that she deserves. Advanced Review Copy provided for voluntary review consideration Zahara was an amazing character--a female stuntperson!--and I warmed to her right away. She and Chase (an up-and-coming actor) threw off plenty of sparks every time they were on the page; I can just imagine how that would have transferred on the big screen (if Z ever got to be on the big screen as herself, that is--sadly, she didn't). The stunts that the two of them carried out in the book were pretty intense, seconded only by their (ahem!) other scenes... I liked Chase as well, though he had an annoying tendency to make dubious decisions that negatively affected people who weren't him...without thinking ahead of time that such outcomes were a possibility. In a fairly conflict-free book, though, I guess the conflict has to come from somewhere, right? Still, everything came out well in the end, and the actual end of the book was pretty squee-worthy, so... This was only my second book from the series (after Riptide ) so I'm not quite as familiar as other readers undoubtedly are with the other series characters. It wasn't a huge problem, though. The focus is really on Zahara and Chase, so even new readers to the series shouldn't have any problem following along and enjoying all of the accompanying drama.
